I just want to know if anyone has hiked the Fanie Botha over winter time as I will be hiking it in July and have no idea what to expect, if anyone can help.
And as a newbie in hiking will it be too much of a challenge?

It isn’t a walk in the park, but a fantastic hike nevertheless. Are you in a group?
It will be rather chilly in winter, but if you have experienced hikers in your group then I have to presume they will look after you. Lots of climbing whether you do the weekend or 5 day hike.
