Death of a hiker on Lion's head

Anyone else following / aware of this?

FROM CAPE NEWS…

Spokeswoman for Table Mountain National Park Merle Collins said the hiker , whose name has not been released, died after being fatally injured, following a 30m fall at 9pm on Friday night. Collins said the hiker was on Lion’s Head with his girlfriend and her father. “He took a different route and slipped and fell. :sob:

Came from the Camps Bay side, possibly going to Wallies Cave which is closed.
The article which I read said that he was sitting on the edge which gave way.

Unconfirmed reports I have heard is that he went off-trail to avoid congestion and fell. Lion’s Head is becoming dangerously crowded on weekends (not to mention the environmental impact).
