Dome pools route and distance

Hi Fellow hikers, I have secured a permit for some pools and am very excited. Please can anyone who has done this hike clarify some information:

  • Is the hike 4km to the pools? So approx 8km whole route there and back?

  • I know the paths are unmarked. Is the route map and description sufficient? Do I need a compass?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
