We are a group of ladies with a life-long dream of hiking the DGT and are now finally planning it for February 2026. We are experienced hikers and plan to do an unsupported hike, but because of safety concerns we are looking for other hikers to join… if anyone is interested??

Good evening Hannelie and thank you for the response. I am required to be on standby duties 1 week in every 4. My standby week for Feb next year is from 16th to the 23rd so will clash with your dates. Due to the Summer fire season in CTN, I cannot get leave when on standby (firefighter) for periods December to end April.
If you do proceed with the traverse, enjoy and stay safe.
I will then hopefully be looking at doing the traverse between either 21 April to 9 May or 19 May to 6 June.
