I have some questions regarding a hike I’m
planning with a group of people at the end of October this year.
I was looking at two options. (Mixed fitness group; not expert hikers but frequent hikers)
The first option:
Bannerman hut and Bannerman pass circular route
Questions here:
How safe is this area of the Drakensberg?
On the second day -
What is the total distance from the hut, to the pass, and back to the hut?
Can anyone provide an extended map and some experience of this route recently done?
What is the weather like in Central Drakensberg during this time of year?
The second option:
Giants cup 4 day option
Questions here:
Is it a good option for first time Drakensberg hikers (part of the group)?
Safety in this area?
How do you get from Swiman hut and the exit of this hike on day 4 back to your vehicle that is parked at the start?
Weather in this part of the Drakensberg end of October?
Total km for the 4 days and experience of this route?
