Engagement cave

hi all. It looks like we will be having rain this weekend. We are staying in engagement cave, as another party is in sleeping beauty. I was thinking it may be a good idea to take a hiking tent along, to make sure sleeping bags stay dry. Is this an option? Otherwise a groundsheet, with rubbish bags for the feet end of our bags…

Engagement Cave’s name is not an accident - it is a tiny cave that barely sleeps 2. There’s tons of space to pitch tents near it, so taking a tent is a good idea. That section above Sleeping Beauty Cave is a lovely yet rarely visited valley. Just make sure you know how to get past Sleeping Beauty Cave and up to Engagement Cave - if you miss the turnoff, you’ll find yourself in really bad overgrowth very quickly! There’s nowhere suitable to camp below Sleeping Beauty Cave that I can remember.

Rather take a tent. It is still cold out there in the Drakensberg and you don’t want to have a miserable night.
