The Thuraya SO-2510 is a satellite phone manufactured by Thuraya in the United Arab Emirates. This phone is designed to be compatible with Thuraya networks as well as other networks. With a compact design, the Thuraya SO-2510 has a height of 3 cm, a length of 14.2 cm (including antenna), and a width of 5.3 cm. Despite the expired manufacturer warranty, this multipurpose satellite phone is a reliable option for those in need of communication in remote or areas without reliable cell service. Thuraya, is easily one of the cheapest solutions for voice enabled satellite communications, making this phone an excellent choice for hiking, marine, camping, or any outdoor adventures that lack conventional terrestrial networks.
The Thuraya SO-2150 also supports GmPRS Packet Data Downstream speeds of up to 60 kbps and upstream speeds of up to 15 kbps, Allowing for network connection VIA data cable to a PC. This is best suited for basic internet browsing and other light internet tasks such as email or FAX.

Item Condition:
This phone has barely been used. It was only kept as an emergency backup related to an offshore job, therefore it sat dormant for many years. Ive fully tested the phone with a sim card (not included) and everything is working as it should. It Only has a slight amount of cosmetic wear due to its age - such as the Rubber headphone jack has deteriorated but is still attached, and a very small amount of paint chipping around the speaker. The phone works very well and connects to the Thuraya network quickly. GPS services work as they should. The original battery no longer holds charge for more than a week due to age, and so the buyer should source their own replacement (This package includes the original battery and a Cameron sino replacement). PLEASE NOTE: BOTH batteries do NOT function to the best of their ability. The original battery has lowered capacity due to age and the cameron sino battery has a battery protection circuit issue.
Reason for selling: I have 2 satellite phones, which is unnessecary for my use. Therefore i am selling my extra one.
