Two of us are going to be hiking Bale Mountains and the Simien Mountains in Ethiopia, from the 25th of March until the 5th April, 2020.
Food and supplies are carried by mule, and its about 5 hours of scheduled hike in between camping in tents, with time to explore, searching for wildlife and scenery filling the rest of the day. 4 nights in each area with one or two stay over nights on each side.
Budget is $1800 if we find one more person, and $1500 if we find two more people, and so on - only gratuities, International flights (R6400± return from Jo burg), spending money and one or two meals are not included in this. Its admittedly very expensive, but the tour was tailored around spending as much time in these two areas as possible. It is truly mind-blowing, and is top of my bucket list. The pricing is competitive, and the operator is reputable.
You are, of course, welcome to add on other parts of Ethiopia to this, but the trekking section dates are non negotiable, unfortunately.
