Mindblowing

Hi all,

I recently spoke out about backpack sizes and afterwards I thought I should read up about it. The say, wisdom comes with age but narrow mindedness also comes with age.

The times has change of what we know about hiking or trail walking as they say.
These days, hiking trails offers hikers to take their sleeping bags and cookery to the overnight facilities. That means that your bag just became so much lighter. You practically hike with a day bag and not a multi day bag.

One have to consider, what do you really need on this hike, a warm top or sweat suit, about 3l water bladder. Lots of energy boosters to nibble on while hiking, your walking cane and a good cap or floppy hood. Some sort of communication device, when sh*ts hit the fan. And ofcourse a gps or map device. Then that one must, a good whistle ( for when your stuck and someone needs to find you.)

For the pack that goes to your overnight facility, your next dinner; flip flops to walk in sothat your feet can breath. Some anti mozzie and cookery; your next few days groceries and a good self inflatable mattress as well as your sleeping bag. You can also ask them to lay out your hotwater bladder in the sun for a nice hot shower and shampoo. Your human make stuff. And your clothes for the next few days.

In over all it sound like the bag that goes to the overnight facility going to be the biggest.

After all, hiking shouldn’t be a trip to Siberia should it?
