My wife and I have been doing a lot of hiking over the years, but it’s been mostly single day or slack packing. We would like to do a short multi day hike. Can anyone suggest some hikes that allows just 2 people to do them? So any Cape Nature trails are not an option because they require at least 3 people (not sure if SAN Parks has the same policy). Also hikes in the Western/Northern/Eastern Cape is preferred, so we don’t have to drive for too much to get there.
Hello Xhaag,
We hiked the Cape of good hope overnight trail as a couple. Slept over in the smaller of the huts, was fine. Would recommend to order wood for the Braai. It’s a nice scenery and feels much more away from the city as it is.
Also the Sphinx Route in Hottentots Holland was without any problems just with the two of us.

Thank you for the recommendations @Sonja . Interesting that you hiked overnight at Hottentots Hollands because that is controlled by Cape Nature, and when we wanted to book a hut for one of the multi day trails they told us we must be a group of 3 people or more.
Hello Xhaag
I can recommend the Outeniqua trail. It is a SANparks trail so party of 2 is allowed. It is a currently a 5 day/4 night trail from the Karatara area to Harkerville, but you are allowed to do only parts of the trail and do not need to do the full 5 days. I would recommend Goudveld to Diepwalle (3 days) thus overnight in Millwood and Rondebossie huts.
Cheers, Wikus
That sounds like an excellent recommendation @Wikus74. Thank you
