Does anyone know of a place that sells Chlorine Dioxide tablets in SA? I know most shops sell the NaDCC, but looking specifically for the former.

I have struggled with this as well, as it seems the most effective with the least resiudal elements. I know a while ago I could find some Katadyn Micropur MP1, but was rather expensive, and can’t spot any right now.
Our market seems to be quite flooded with the silver ion side of this, which to be honest I’m dubious about, the scientific concensus seems light.
Particular reason you are lookimng for chemical purification? They can be a bit of a pain in the ass, particualrly in high sediment areas like the Fish River, but I picked up a Sawyer Squeeze of Amazon a couple of years ago and has done my hiking group well.

I’ve got a trip to EBC soon. It’s what the company and guides taking us recommend (even insists). From what I understand it (Chlorine Dioxide) covers against a wider spectrum of organisms and viruses and as mentioned doesn’t leave as much of a residue or chlorine taste.
I honestly have no experience since since it’s my first time going on an organised trip like this. If I was solo, I’d probably just risk the NaDCC.
I’ll ask one of the participants coming from overseas to bring extra for me.

If you can pickup from overseas I know a lot of folks seem to swear by Aquamira drops, which are chlorine dioxide.
